The Story

The Carpintis Cichlid (Herichthys carpintis), also known as the Green Texas Cichlid or Pearlscale Cichlid, is a moderately large cichlid originating from the Rio PÔnuco drainage in Mexico. It features a greyish-blue body with distinctive light blue or green spots, becoming more intensely colored during breeding. They are omnivorous, hardy, and easy to breed, but they are also aggressive and territorial, requiring large tanks with plenty of hiding places.
