CoyoteVest

 

Are you concerned for the safety of your small dog? It's a dangerous world where coyotes, aggressive dogs, and even birds of prey can injure or kill your small dog in the blink of an eye. We know because it happened to us, and that's why we developed our patented* CoyoteVest. Its purpose is to help slow down or prevent a surprise attack and give you enough time to react before serious injury occurs. The CoyoteVest gives us peace of mind knowing that our dogs are not utterly defenseless.

The CoyoteVest is made in the USA with high quality workmanship and a unique combination of durable materials. The side panels are reinforced with genuine DuPont™ Kevlar®. The result is a stab-resistant vest that is able to withstand sharp canine teeth. We designed the CoyoteVest to help protect the areas that are usually targeted during an attack and be comfortable for your dog and be easy for you to put on and take off. We made sure the CoyoteVest is easy to use so that you can get in the habit of putting it on your dog every time you go out - just like we do. 

The CoyoteVest also comes with a full set of removable chrome spikes. Spikes for the neck and set (2) Spike strips for the sides of the back. The spikes are made from very hard plastic and they're not dangerous to handle, but with enough pressure they're sharp enough to hurt. The spikes provide an important line of defense but Velcro makes them easy to remove whenever you want.  

The CoyoteVest utilizes an adjustable waist belt and adjustable collar and it can accommodate a variety of dog shapes and sizes. There's a D-ring where you can connect your leash and reflective features that make your dog more visible at night. The vest is water-proof, there are no metal parts that can rust, and it's hand-washable with a mild detergent and air dry in shade. Do not put in dryer. *Color topper may fade overtime in sun. Please note that the fluorescent orange fabric will fade quicker due to the yellow and orange hues. This color change does not impact the quality or effectiveness of the vest (fading similar to hunters vest, hats and safety vest.)

Choosing a Size

Measure the length of the back from the shoulder to the start of the tail (do not include the neck) -- make sure the dog is standing up and not sitting. Hold the ruler straight do not bend it down over the dogs behind.  We have found that measuring the back length by following the dog's back curvature can add to the length and throw off the sizing. The vests are designed with a straight back and do not have a curve to them. So when measuring, it's important that your dog is standing and you're measuring a straight shot from the front shoulder to the start of the tail without curving the measuring tape. The collar and the waist are very adjustable as we make the straps extra long. After measuring if you're still uncertain on which size to get, it's usually better to go with the smaller size (we receive more returns/exchanges with the vest being too large rather than too small).  You can also check out the product photos above which show different size vests on different size dogs.
