The Story

The Rock-Dwelling Mbuna Cichlid—Compressiceps East African Cichlid (now known as the Malawi Eyebiter, Dimidiochromis compressiceps) is a deep-bodied, laterally compressed cichlid with a large mouth, which can grow up to 10 inches long. It is native to Lake Malawi, features a whitish-silver body with a dark horizontal stripe, and males develop vibrant metallic blue, red, and orange fins when sexually mature. A peaceful mbuna, it requires a large, spacious tank with rocky structures, caves, and sand to mimic its natural habitat.
